Punjab’s authorities have stated new school schedules for Lahore that went into effect on October 1st of 2024. This change in shifts focused on matching the needs of the winter time and poor air quality conditions in Lahore.
For government schools operating in a single shift, classes will now begin 15 minutes earlier at 7:On Mondays through Thursdays classes begin at 7:45 AM and reach their conclusion at 1:30 PM following the change. On Fridays, schools will close earlier at 12:Classes will start at 7:45 AM and wrap up at 1:15 PM to ensure students and faculty enjoy a more balanced day. Thousands of students in over 1.3 government schools in Lahore will experience this new schedule change.

I’ve worked in the education space for almost a few years and it is certainly not news that the transition to new school timings, in some way or the other, disrupts students and teachers alike.
